Hello friends.
Things are about to shift with how we communicate here. Let’s talk about it.
New format, who dis?
Life is one big game of de-commitment.
You keep seeing me say the same phrases, over and over again:
“What got you here, will not get you there.”
“Good is the enemy of great.”
“It’s not about addition, it’s about subtraction.”
I will continue to remind you of these concepts because they are absolutely paramount to monumental progress and growth.
And as a practitioner, these are not just things I talk about. These are things that I’m living.
The latest item to be axed? The newsletter.
Or at least, as we know it.
Let me explain.
The shift
These newsletters have been one of my favourite forms of content I’ve ever worked on. Not only has it been so much fun to allow these to be written, but according to the messages you send me about them, they’ve been a great source of value for many of you (which I’m very grateful for).
However, while it’s been good — even very good — good/very good is still the enemy of great.
I noticed an arising around a new format occurring. Change was imminent. I could sense it.
So, I did some releasing and ideation on the format of the newsletter, letting go of many of the stories, beliefs, and expectations I had around the newsletter — including the way I previously thought it “should be”, as well as some new ideas that arose — all of which are possible filters preventing me from perceiving reality clearly.
I then opened to the infinite possibility of what this format could become and was presented with an entirely new strategy.
One of the most important realizations I received from this releasing + ideation session was:
There is no format. Lol
While it’s very easy to start believing the story (illusion) that there are only certain ways you can do things — which is one of the biggest creative traps in existence — I really opened to the possibility that the format of these emails does not matter whatsoever and I’m completely free to do whatever. And it’s become clear now that this is reality.
What can you expect going forward?
The honest answer is to expect nothing and embrace whatever this evolves into. But if you’re curious as to how things might play out or how this could look, here’s what I can see so far:
I foresee more isolated, dedicated and frequent writing being sent out. Writing like this, where I take a concept or thought and talk about it as much or as little as needed. I don’t know how often these emails/posts will be sent out yet, so I’ll feel it out over time. But for now, you can expect far more consistent emails than before.
These emails will be archived on my website under the writing section. I’ve also gone ahead and merged the newsletter and writing categories because they’re now virtually one and the same, but if you want to find all the old newsletter entries, there’s a dedicated tag you can access here.
The newsletter format you’ve come to expect may return from time to time, but likely differently. If/when I achieve consistency with content across all platforms, I think it’ll shift more to a recap strategy where I share a summary and highlights of what you may have missed recently.
Imagine every week I’m doing group coaching calls, posting on the main channel, second channel, X, IG and sending you emails. In theory, if I ever decide to do this at this level (I’m still not sure if this is an authentic desire or not, more to release there) — that’s a lot of content. And in turn, a lot of gold that you may miss. So I’m bullish on the idea of every so often sending out recaps or reminders with the best content you may have missed, possibly with some highlights, snippets and exclusives, too.
This recap idea might also be completely scrapped and I sent it all for nothing hahaha. Who knows. We shall see.
What will happen to ideas, shares & the latest?
While the strategy may be shifting, you won’t lose out on what you got out of the old newsletter. In fact, I believe this new strategy will just amplify it.
Ideas
Ideas and insights will now get their own email. This will allow me to write with fewer expectations on how short or long the content “should” be and write for however long is appropriate at that given time. It’ll also allow the writing to be far more readable because I can finally space thoughts out properly (you have no idea how happy I am about this lol).
There will also be fewer bottlenecks. As much as I enjoyed having an area to discuss what was new and share things that were upgrading my quality of life, there were so many times I didn’t have enough for either of those sections and I let it be a block to sending out more newsletters. But since these insights are independent now, you’ll receive way more gold as a result.
Plus, let’s be honest. The “ideas” section was by far the best part of the newsletter lol. So we’re going all in on it.
The latest/what’s new
Updates, announcements and plugs will still be present, but it will shift to a “p.s.” section in the email and on occasion, even get their own emails when it’s appropriate. But don’t worry, I won’t spam you with promotions lol.
While I view content as a big part of the marketing strategy for business and I intend to ramp up soft promotion across all platforms, the best way to do that is through delivering massive value to you. So when I do promote things it’ll be either accompanied with value and subtly plugged, or if it isn’t, it’ll be in such a ratio overall that I feel good about.
Shares
Share will likely be the most affected. The more I transcend spiritually, the less of a need there is to consume, so I’m currently at record lows of consumption and don’t have much to share these days lol. This was also part of the logical reasoning behind the new direction. But if there’s something I still feel compelled to share — whether it’s a song, a video, a book, a resource, a tool, a purchase, etc. — they’ll likely be shared on Instagram or X through stories, dumps or posts.
I also may take a more dedicated writing approach to what was in these shares, where I take a video/book, etc. and discuss in depth what I learned and how it helped me. Because I also won’t have the pressure to avoid sharing too much due to the promise of it being scannable, it’ll allow me to write as much or as little as needed. I also may do a periodic format where I share a bunch of things that have brought me value lol. Again, I’m open to however life wants this to unfold.
So, what changes for you?
Not much, really.
You get more consistent value in your inbox and more touch points with me ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) (pause). You get shorter and longer thoughts, in a more readable fashion. You may get some recaps or reminders of what you missed. And you’ll get more announcements, updates and subtle promotions (often accompanied by value first) to stay in the loop.
All in all, things just get better for the both of us.
Just how I like it.
Thanks for reading (and for being a part of this).
Looking forward to what’s next.
Talk (a ton more) soon.

P.S. Don’t forget to ask yourself these questions in your own life. What is a good thing — or even a very good thing — that is taking the spot of something that could be great? Remember: Good is the enemy of great. What got you here will not get you to the next place.
