The good stopping you from greatness, the correlation between action and security, & subtle traps hidden in the creative process

Hello friends. Hope you’re all doing great. Let’s get into it.

What’s new

Politics on the main channel 🗣️

I repeat, politics on the main channel 🗣️

I posted 2 videos:

  1. An introduction to my political views (30m)
  2. My reaction to Trump winning the election (58m)

Looks like the “podcast” has subtly found its way onto the main channel now hahaha

By the way, as much as I enjoy talking about this kind of stuff, I don’t intend for this to become mainly a political channel.

Anyone who speaks with me regularly knows I am quite interested in politics, current events and the culture war and I’m just glad that I have a place where I can discuss things like this from time to time when I have something to say.

But ultimately, my allegiance is to the greater mission of helping people fulfill their ultimate potential and that’s where I can help the most, so the political and cultural commentary will stay more of a side dish rather than the main course.

Ideas I’m pondering

What got you here will not get you there. In order to get to the next level, it’s essential to let go of the good things that are stopping you from greatness. Good is the enemy of great and this is the fastest way to level up. While dropping these things can be challenging, it also doesn’t need to be. When you’re actively utilizing releasing in your day-to-day, the inessential naturally drops away (free guide on releasing coming soon btw).

Rules are often subtle traps. While rules can be useful, they are often well-rationalized barriers, blockages and walls designed by the cunning ego to stop you from going outside what you know, what you’re used to and where you’re comfortable. But dissolve these rules and you free yourself up to make the right move at the right time, without these mandatory walls stopping you from the correct behaviour for that situation. (Bonus: rules are always deeply intertwined with beliefs and identity)

A feeling of security and safety is very correlated with behaviour. If you feel unsafe or threatened, your actions will likely either be tremendously reduced or fully stopped. From a tribalistic sense, you’re trying to avoid death. And if you perceive a situation or an action as a threat to your life, you will avoid it due to survival wiring. If you want to improve behaviour, work on your perception of security, releasing the stories, beliefs and illusions around fears and threats that appear real, but aren’t. Correct the underlying cause here and the behaviour upstream will naturally correct itself. Working on my sense of security has been absolutely fundamental for me and I think it’s likely to be for you too. Especially if you’re very based in fear.

The single biggest thing missing in politics from the top to the bottom, from the left to the right — is honesty. Very few are honest and reasonable. Almost no one admits when they’re wrong. Engagement farming, rage baiting, paid shills, misleading “journalism”, full-blown propaganda — it’s a complete mess. We don’t need more disingenuous behaviour. We have enough. Do your part in being honest. (By the way, there is a deeper cause here that generates dishonesty that I’ll be posting a video on soon)

Attachment to documenting the process becomes a block. As many of you know, I’m a fan of documentation. I think that if done right, it can be amazing for storytelling and positive impact. But my god… If your mind is too fixated on showing the process for everything you work on or documenting all these little details in a way that makes sense historically — it will make everything so much more complicated, slower and harder. It sucks. That doesn’t mean you should stop documenting altogether. But letting go of the fixation on it and having every little thing be perfectly documented is absolutely critical lmao. Otherwise, it’ll be crippling and will steal your potential. Very few will ever experience the level of attachment that I’ve experienced around this, but if you do, this is for you.

Maybe not optimizing for the algorithm was the meta all along. Saw a 45-minute video appear on my home page from a guy named “Matt Parker”. It was a completely unedited and “unoptimized” video on his second channel about him testing user-generated code on his LED Christmas tree. It got 10 million views. 10 million. Without any editing or optimization. This one video received more views than anything else he’s ever made on his “optimized channel”. With the re-emergence of streaming and raw videos like these doing numbers, I’m beginning to realize that there is a serious meta around keeping editing to an absolute minimum, ignoring the attachment to the algorithm, being a real-life human being and letting the value the audience is looking for naturally be delivered.

Dr. Paul Saladino’s “animal based diet” protocol. I was in dire need of a nutrition plan built around vitality and heard that George Janko started a new diet that resulted in an extreme boost of energy and creativity. I looked into it more, including his full-length interview with Dr. Paul Saladino and jumped on it immediately. This is similar to the carnivore diet (meats & dairy only) but with additions like fruit, honey, syrup & whatever else your gut can tolerate once you’ve established your baseline. But still no seeds, seed oils, vegetables or greens, because they are now my opp. What started as an experiment has now become a lifestyle, which I’m almost 3 months into now. I can happily say this is the best diet/nutritional plan I’ve ever followed. The vitality, energy and clarity have been next fucking level, and it’s also been clutch for helping my cut too. I swear to God, this protocol is what I’ve been looking for for years because I naturally gravitate towards protein and fats over carbs that make me tired like rice. I’m also extremely glad to not be force-feeding myself things anymore that my gut doesn’t want and instead, naturally go with the flow and have a ton of meats, fats, dairy, fruits and healthy sugars (ie. honey). The combination feels great, my body loves it. It’s so good I have yet to have a cheat meal since starting. Lastly, it’s the same cost as a normal diet, thanks to being strategic with what I buy and Costco membership = goated.

Kill Tony. I’ve watched clips from this show for a couple of years now, but only in August did I finally tune into my first full-length KT episode when Jordan Peterson was a guest. I was deeply curious to see what the dynamic was like when a serious, intellectual type goes on a raunchy, roast friendly comedy show — and I absolutely loved it. By the way, JP crushed. He was better than many comedians who panel lmao. Shortly afterwards, I became addicted and progressively binged ~20 episodes over the next couple of months lmao. My favourite episode so far is Shane Gillis’ Trump vs. Adam Ray’s Biden (672), where they stayed in character for 3 hours straight and did incredible impressions of the 2 presidents. I thought 672 would be good, but it turned out to be a masterpiece. If you’re a fan of comedy and appreciate seeing anything from the worst to the best, with some hilarious moments in between, it’s a good time.

That’s all for now.

As always, thanks for reading.
