The illusion of the new year, history repeating itself and confronting the darkness

Happy new year, folks. Wishing you all continued health, happiness and success in the upcoming year and beyond.

As always, the format is simple:

  1. Ideas I’m thinking about
  2. Resources that are upgrading the quality of my life
  3. The latest from me

Ideas

The division of a year is a complete illusion. The difference between December 31st and January 1st is a single second. The only thing that changes is the calendar. Everything else stays exactly the same. Don’t get swept up in the illusory narratives of time. Evolution doesn’t come from the mere passing of time. It comes from consciously making changes within yourself.

You have enough time, energy and money in your day-to-day to make whatever you want happen. What’s more important is how you use what you have available to you and that comes from your mind and your energy field. What’s more important than how much you have is how you invest what you have. The only thing that’s stopping you is the blockages inside of you that you haven’t healed yet. Heal that and you can give yourself the gift of being virtually limitless.

It’s not about your ideology, how you feel or a narrative you’ve attached yourself to — it’s about what’s actually happening in your reality. Deal within the facts or the progress that follows will be fictional.

We’re not living through a unique set of circumstances. History repeats itself over and over again. For those well-versed in the past, they’ve seen this exact narrative time and time again but with different names and faces.

This year is likely to be another year of darkness, but the way out is through. This darkness will continue for as long we allow it to and pretend it doesn’t exist or we continue to comply with it. It’s important that we sit with the darkness and confront it. Otherwise, it becomes scarier than it needs to be and we struggle to manage it. Just remember, darkness is afraid of the light. And in your core, you are pure light.

No matter what happens this year at a worldly level, no matter what chaos is occurring, we have the power to continue to grow, evolve and improve with whatever we’re doing. Not only is it our option, but it’s also our duty.

Resources

Chernobyl. I urge you to watch this series. It’s absolutely incredible. I couldn’t stop watching it. Not only does it do a great job with documenting the horrific events of Chernobyl, but it shows to a tee how similar the events are to the present response with COVID, except it’s the reverse. COVID has mostly been inconsequential, but through evil/incompetence, they’ve been treating it like it’s the end of the world even though it’s got a ridiculously high survival rate. Chernobyl had the potential for tens of millions of lives to be lost in a very small area, but the incompetent/evil in power of that communist area treated it like it was nothing. It’s fascinating to watch the comparisons because the response was so similar to the present but reversed.

Nescafe Gold Instant Coffee. While I was on a hot coffee kick a few weeks back, I ran out of this coffee. After my Dad bought me some for Christmas, I was reminded how much I missed it and how great it is in the day-to-day. To me, it tastes as good as a French Pressed cup of coffee but at a fraction of the price, lasts way longer, and is made way faster. Even one of my barista friends is hooked on Nescafe since leaving Starbucks. Nescafe is seriously underrated, especially this model.

Slim-fit H&M shirts. I’ve been wearing H&M’s slim-fit medium-size shirts since 2018 because they’re very affordable and fit me pretty well despite my long torso. I just switched my default outfit from light-grey shirts to black shirts with the addition of 3 of these 3 packs. If you’re looking for a good quality shirt that fits the body well, I’d currently recommend these in whatever colour/fit works best for your situation.

The Entire History of You. I started watching a little bit of Black Mirror and this has been one of the most interesting episodes so far, especially because I frequently think about how the world is going to be like this someday and change my content strategy forever. This episode is a great starting point to a dark series that’s filled with many lessons.
